What You’ll Do

  • Monitor security alerts using SIEM and other security monitoring tools (Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.).
  • Detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents; escalate and document incidents following established procedures.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and assist with remediation tracking.
  • Monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions to identify anomalous activity.
  • Analyze logs from servers, network devices, and security tools to identify suspicious patterns.
  • Manage user access, authentication, and security policy enforcement in coordination with IT.
  • Support incident response and forensic investigations (evidence collection, basic triage).
  • Maintain security documentation, produce incident reports, and contribute to post-incident reviews.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to strengthen controls and harden systems.

Who You Are (Required Skills & Qualifications)

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewall basics).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts and common attack techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar).
  • Familiarity with endpoint security / antivirus solutions and log analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) are an advantage.
  • Understanding of cloud security concepts for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is beneficial.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: Approximately 1–3 years in IT support, network operations, or cybersecurity. Entry-level candidates with internships, hands-on labs, or relevant training are encouraged to apply.

  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate
  • Microsoft Security certifications
  • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
  • Any hands-on experience with cloud-native monitoring and response workflows

Compensation & Schedule

  • Rate: 60 - 66 USD per hour.
  • Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.
  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA (on-site / local candidates preferred). Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
