Role summary

This listing is for an Operations Supervisor role in Pontiac, MI. As an experienced warehouse/distribution leader, you'll supervise daily inbound/outbound activities, manage inventory accuracy, enforce safety and quality standards, and lead a represented (union) team. This is an onsite, full-time position working 1st or 2nd shift with overtime as required.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations in a parts distribution / materials warehouse environment.
  • Manage inbound/outbound flow to meet timeliness and quality KPIs.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate a unionized team; provide coaching, feedback and recognition.
  • Maintain inventory controls, departmental records, and timekeeping as required.
  • Lead continuous improvement using GMS, lean principles and layered audits.
  • Drive safety-first behaviors and ensure compliance with workplace rules and regulations.
  • Communicate with employees, union reps and site leadership to maintain productive relationships.
  • Support problem solving and corrective actions to achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals.

Supervision & leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for a distribution/warehouse department.
  • Lead hiring recommendations, performance evaluations, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment between peers and union partners.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and operational standards.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift and to work overtime including weekends as business needs dictate.
  • 1–5 years experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred; experience in manufacturing, warehouse or logistics useful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational, data-analysis, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and ability to learn quickly.

Preferred qualifications / Competitive edge

  • Previous supervisory experience in a union environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of lean tools, GMS or similar continuous-improvement systems.
  • Track record of improving process efficiency, safety performance and quality in a fast-paced distribution setting.

Schedule, location & compensation

  • Onsite role based in Pontiac, MI. Candidate must report to the facility for full-time work.
  • Shift: Able to rotate into first or second shift as required by business needs.
  • Estimated pay: $89,256 per year (estimated).
