Operational Materials Planner
The Operational Materials Planner is responsible for managing site-level demand and materials inputs, ensuring accurate and timely procurement activities to support manufacturing operations. This role serves as the key liaison between manufacturing sites and central planning, handling purchase orders, supplier communications, and data integrity in SAP to optimize inventory and delivery performance. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in supply chain tools like Power BI and SAP within a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do
This Operational Materials Planner supports network-level materials planning and transactional purchasing for a manufacturing network. You will ensure accurate demand inputs from sites, execute buying activities, maintain master data, and drive KPIs for transactional accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Own the completeness and timing of site-level demand and materials inputs; collect and validate standardized data from each manufacturing site.
- Normalize and aggregate site inputs into a single network view to support central materials planning.
- Serve as the primary interface between manufacturing sites and Central Materials Planning; ensure clear, consistent communication and escalate issues when needed.
- Execute transactional buying: place orders, create and change purchase orders, resolve delivery issues, support invoicing, and follow up with suppliers in alignment with the network materials plan.
- Maintain accurate purchasing master data in SAP (vendor records, material info records, source lists, pricing conditions) to support clean PO execution.
- Act as the day-to-day transactional contact with suppliers after demand approval: manage ordering, delivery, and required documentation.
- Resolve operational buying and planning issues with urgency and drive KPIs for transactional accuracy, on-time delivery, and supplier performance.
- Support automation and system improvements to streamline demand intake, PO processing, and supplier communications.
- Contribute to network reporting by maintaining transactional data quality and supporting KPI tracking for buying accuracy, delivery performance, and demand intake timeliness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in transactional work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to work with stakeholders across manufacturing sites and central functions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-managed, organized, and a quick learner who asks questions and builds domain knowledge.
- Comfortable making timely decisions within defined processes.
