What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is building out an Operational Intelligence analytics capability and is looking for an Operational Data Scientist to help turn operational data into actionable outcomes. This is a hands-on role where you will build, validate, and deploy models while partnering closely with operational and business stakeholders.

• Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models (regression, classification, clustering, forecasting) that support operational decision-making
• Collaborate with business partners to frame problems, identify data needs, and translate analytical outputs into practical recommendations
• Work with modern cloud-based data platforms (including Databricks) to access, transform, and analyze data at scale
• Build repeatable analytical frameworks, pipelines, and best practices to accelerate delivery and ensure maintainability
• Ensure data quality, discoverability, and appropriate instrumentation across analytics workflows
• Communicate complex findings clearly to technical peers and non-technical stakeholders, creating dashboards, reports, or presentations as needed
• Deliver high-visibility, measurable outcomes that demonstrate the value of analytics for operations

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in Python and/or R, with strong SQL skills for data access and manipulation
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying machine learning models in production (regression, classification, clustering, forecasting)
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and distributed data (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure ML, AWS, or GCP)
• Comfortable working with large-scale, distributed datasets and ETL/ELT processes
• Strong communication skills and a track record of translating analytics into business impact
• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys building repeatable solutions
• Collaborative, intellectually curious, and pragmatic approach focused on practical results
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (computer science, statistics, engineering, math, or related)

Working Environment & Tools

• Cloud platforms: Azure / AWS / GCP (experience with at least one preferred)
• Platform tooling: Databricks, data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake), and standard ML tooling
• Languages & frameworks: Python (pandas, scikit-learn, MLFlow or similar) and/or R; proficient SQL
• Collaboration: Work closely with operations, engineering, and product partners to deliver production-grade analytics
