The Online Sales Specialist serves as the initial contact for prospective homebuyers, managing digital and phone inquiries to qualify leads and schedule appointments with on-site sales teams. This role supports lead generation and sales conversion by maintaining accurate records, collaborating with marketing and sales teams, and enhancing the customer experience through timely and professional communication. Overview & Role Summary
This role serves as the first point of contact for prospective homebuyers and digital shoppers. You will manage online, phone, and digital inquiries to qualify leads, schedule appointments, and deliver accurate information to on-site sales teams. The Online Sales Specialist supports lead generation and conversion efforts and works closely with marketing, sales, and operations to maintain a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
Estimated pay: $56,642 per year (estimated).
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound leads from phone, email, chat, and website forms to create exceptional first impressions.
- Qualify leads using buyer needs, readiness, and lifestyle criteria; schedule appointments with appropriate on-site sales associates.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM or lead-management systems; log activities, follow-ups, and conversion metrics.
- Provide clear, consistent information about communities, homes, pricing, availability, timelines, and next steps.
- Build rapport and nurture prospects until they are ready for the on-site sales process.
- Collaborate with marketing, on-site sales, and operations to ensure seamless communications and accurate information.
- Support digital marketing and prospecting initiatives by tracking lead trends and assisting with campaign efforts.
- Participate in training and team meetings; mentor or guide entry-level colleagues when appropriate.
- Assist with ad-hoc sales support such as preparing marketing materials, supporting community events, and coordinating promotions or open houses.
- Periodically audit listings, MLS, and website content to ensure accuracy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in sales, customer service, marketing, or a similar, communication-driven role.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with customers in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in online sales, digital lead management, or homebuilding/customer engagement.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and lead-management tools.
- Knowledge of new-home sales processes, construction timelines, and basic financing concepts.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work primarily in an office or remote-office environment using phone, computer, and digital communication tools.
- Occasional visits to community locations for alignment with onsite teams; minimal travel for meetings or training may be required.
- Variable scheduling may be needed to cover peak inquiry times, including limited evenings or weekends.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use headsets and computers continuously.
- Ability to lift and transport light materials such as marketing packets or laptops and to move through model homes during onsite visits.
