Overview

This listing is for an OE Technical Account Specialist role supporting Original Equipment (OE) customer programs in product development, testing, validation, and launch activities. You will work closely with OE account teams, engineering and design groups, and cross-functional stakeholders to support tire product development and customer-facing activities. The position is offered on behalf of a Confidential Client in the Engineering industry and is located in Cornelius, NC.

What You’ll Do

• Actively participate in developing product development plans to meet performance, quality objectives, and project milestones.
• Coordinate domestic testing activities, evaluate experimental tires, and communicate results to internal stakeholders.
• Attend OEM vehicle test events, design reviews, customer meetings, manufacturing site visits, and technical center activities to understand customer requirements and validation procedures.
• Support communication of test results and project updates while learning root-cause analysis, gap assessment, and product development planning processes.
• Interface with warranty and consumer affairs to provide technical guidance, training, and customer inquiry support.
• Accompany OEM personnel during manufacturing site, technical center, and headquarters visits.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related technical field required.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude and willingness to learn tire design, testing, manufacturing, and OE development processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with sound analytical ability to review technical information and communicate findings clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to develop both technical and commercial competencies.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, vehicle test events, site visits, and training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internships, co-op, project experience, or professional experience in automotive, manufacturing, motorsports, or related technical environments.
• Interest in technical sales, OEM account support, and customer relationship management.
• Experience presenting technical information to cross-functional teams and customers.
• Demonstrated leadership through student organizations, Formula SAE, design competitions, co-ops, or internships.
• Tire industry experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements & Travel

• Ability to remain seated for prolonged periods while driving or working on a computer.
• Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods and to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
• Frequent travel (up to 25%) for events, testing, and customer engagement.
