What You’ll Do

You will deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services for youth and families in community and clinic settings under the supervision of the Occupational Therapy Program Manager. The role combines individual and group interventions, care coordination, documentation, and community collaboration to support clients’ daily functioning and mental health recovery.

  • Conduct client assessments and develop treatment plans to improve activities of daily living, social skills, communication, leisure, education-related skills, and pre-employment readiness.
  • Provide regular one-on-one therapy sessions (typically weekly or per plan) and lead therapeutic OT groups tailored to the population’s needs.
  • Create, run, and document mental health–focused OT groups as required by contracts and client needs.
  • Maintain timely, thorough documentation: initial assessments, progress notes, treatment plan updates, and collaborative notations with the treatment team.
  • Meet agency productivity standards and maintain organized caseload management.
  • Coordinate with caregivers, community programs, referring agencies, and other clinical staff to support continuity of care.
  • Supervise fieldwork students and participate in team meetings, case presentations, and clinical supervision.
  • Travel independently to provide services in various environments (schools, community locations, multi-story buildings) as needed.
  • Follow mandated reporting rules, monitor safety plans, and promote client safety.
  • Uphold professional, legal, and ethical standards; maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • Use a strengths-based approach to empower clients and practice independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited entry-level OT program.
  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Current license with the California Board of Occupational Therapy (must be licensed to practice in CA).
  • Valid California driver’s license and a driving record that allows travel for client services.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience providing mental health–focused occupational therapy, group facilitation, and community-based services preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Location & Compensation

  • Location: Lancaster, CA (on-site and community-based travel required)
  • Estimated pay: $77,569 per year (estimated)
