The Occupational Therapist I provides rehabilitation services to physically disabled and emotionally ill patients within Confidential Client facilities. What You’ll Do
This Occupational Therapist I role provides occupational therapy services to patients in an acute and/or rehabilitation setting. You will perform evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and functional independence.
- Conduct patient interviews and administer standardized and non-standardized assessments (range of motion, muscle testing, sensory integration, perceptual abilities, ADL performance, pre-vocational and home evaluations).
- Develop individualized treatment plans with clear objectives and measurable goals.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, functional activity training, sensory re-education, perceptual-motor integration, transfer and ADL training, prosthetic/orthotic training, and adaptive equipment fabrication.
- Monitor and document patient progress, update treatment plans, and communicate status with physicians and other clinical team members.
- Participate in rehabilitation conferences and coordinate care across disciplines (PT, nursing, psychology, social work).
- Provide appropriate education to patients, families, and caregivers; recommend and train on adaptive equipment and home modifications.
- Supervise and mentor OT students, OT aides, and COTAs when assigned.
- Assist in developing or adapting special techniques and equipment to meet patient needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Entry-level position — prior experience in an intern or sub-professional capacity preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and adapt to shifting clinical priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Current, active licensure with the California Board of Occupational Therapy (required).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training where applicable (required for certain behavioral health roles/units).
- Additional unit- or department-specific certifications may be required depending on assignment.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $73.51 / Hour (hourly base pay as listed). Final compensation will be determined by experience, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and operational needs.
- Employment type: Full-time (per posting) with opportunities for per-diem / “services as needed” coverage. FTE for posted assignment may be minimal (e.g., 0.01) — specific schedules and shift assignments are determined by the hiring department.
