What You’ll Do
- Provide occupational therapy services in rehabilitation programs for physically disabled and emotionally ill patients across Confidential Client facilities.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations (range of motion, muscle testing, sensory integration, perceptual abilities, coordination, activities of daily living, pre-vocational and home evaluations, feeding and pre-feeding assessments) to identify functional deficits and therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using therapeutic exercises, functional activities, sensory re‑education, muscle facilitation, perceptual‑motor integration, transfer training, prosthetic/orthotic training, and adaptive equipment fabrication.
- Attend and participate in staff and interdisciplinary rehabilitation conferences; coordinate care with physicians, physical therapy, nursing, psychology and other disciplines; maintain accurate treatment records and progress reports.
- Supervise and instruct student occupational therapists, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), and occupational therapy aides as assigned.
- Review physician referrals, consult with supervisors on case progress and barriers to recovery, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, certification, or Master’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Experience: Entry-level; prior internship or sub‑professional experience preferred.
- Required licenses & certifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist with the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training where applicable (e.g., psychiatric settings or certain ED roles).
- Strong documentation skills, effective verbal and written communication, and ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations and follow applicable safety and infection‑control policies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $77.56 per hour (base hourly rate). Final compensation will be determined by experience, education, licensure, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and operational needs.
