Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an early-career Occupational Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to be a visible, boots-on-the-floor safety resource at a large manufacturing facility in Louisville, CO. This role is hands-on (approximately 70% plant floor / 30% office), supporting employees, supervisors, engineers and plant leadership to identify hazards, improve safe work behaviors, and sustain practical safety systems.

• Establish credibility and productive relationships with frontline employees, supervisors, engineers and plant leadership
• Be a visible, approachable safety resource across the manufacturing operation
• Identify hazards and unsafe practices and confidently communicate corrective actions
• Learn plant processes quickly and apply EHS knowledge to reduce risk proactively
• Work collaboratively with operations, engineering and EHS leadership to improve safety outcomes
• Contribute to a proactive safety culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor supporting employees, supervisors and operational leaders
• Conduct safety inspections, audits and workplace risk assessments
• Identify hazards and drive corrective and preventive actions with operations and leadership
• Address unsafe behaviors and reinforce established safety expectations professionally
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning
• Support ergonomic and other workplace exposure assessments
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of occupational health & safety programs and required EHS documentation
• Support compliance with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements
• Deliver and support safety training (new employee orientation, lockout/tagout, confined space, etc.)
• Participate in safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support industrial hygiene, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, emergency response planning and related programs
• Assist with environmental compliance activities as needed

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 0–2 years of EHS experience (internships/co-ops count)
• Basic understanding of occupational safety principles and effective workplace safety programs
• Familiarity with manufacturing safety concepts: risk assessment, lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard identification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging frontline employees and plant leadership
• Demonstrated ability to learn technical/complex subject matter quickly
• Team-oriented, collaborative approach and professional influence skills
• Comfortable spending the majority of the workday in an active manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills

• Recent graduates with safety internships, co-ops, or manufacturing experience
• OSHA 30 training (or comparable knowledge)
• Heavy industrial manufacturing or union experience (helpful but not required)

Schedule

First shift, Monday–Friday. Approximately 70% plant floor / 30% office. Occasional communication outside normal business hours may be required to support areas that run 24/7.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
