Role Overview

This opportunity is with a confidential client seeking an Associate Obsolescence Engineer or Obsolescence Engineer to support Product Support on a Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) team. The role is based in Melbourne, FL and works as an individual contributor interfacing with engineering, procurement, supply chain, and program management to identify, analyze, and resolve obsolescence risks on assigned systems and subsystems. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government security clearance are required.

What You’ll Do

• Perform the full spectrum of DMSMS/obsolescence management tasks for assigned system(s) and sub-systems to identify and mitigate obsolescence risk
• Work with cross-discipline teams (supply chain, procurement, engineering, business management, program management, and external customers) to execute the DMSMS statement of work
• Develop and maintain obsolescence bills of material by coordinating with suppliers and supplier management teams
• Screen piece-part components for health, identify obsolescence issues, and forecast impacts using end-of-life data analysis
• Track obsolescence cases from identification through validation and implementation using a DMSMS case management tool
• Analyze alternatives and prepare recommended resolutions, change-board packages, and technology roadmaps
• Support Business Case Analysis activities, including Life-of-Need buy calculations and related documentation
• Collect and provide data for technical interchange meetings, working groups, and program deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Engineer (Level 1) applicants must meet ALL of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree (completed or completing by August 2027) from an accredited institution in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and any required program special access

Engineer (Level 2) applicants must meet ALL of the following:

• Master’s degree (completed or completing by August 2027) in a STEM field OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of engineering experience (by August 2027)
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and any required program special access

Both levels: strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (where applicable)
• Internship, co-op, or relevant work experience demonstrating leadership and teamwork
• Experience with database management
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence
• Familiarity with project management processes and procedures
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization techniques
• Familiarity with DMSMS concepts and processes

Compensation & Logistics

• Pay Range (as listed by the source):
  • Associate Engineer: $59,900 to $89,900 per year
  • Engineer: $72,100 to $108,100 per year
• Travel: approximately 10% (per original posting)
• Relocation assistance: may be available
• Security: U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and program special access may be required to start
