Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Nursing Assistant to join their Healthcare & Nursing operations in Los Angeles, CA. This is a full-time, contract opportunity supporting direct patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and long‑term care settings. The role requires hands-on patient support, strong communication, and the ability to follow clinical direction from licensed nursing staff.
What You’ll Do
As a Nursing Assistant you will:
- Provide direct patient/resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility).
- Observe and report changes in patients’ physical or emotional status promptly.
- Use basic diagnostic/treatment equipment such as bladder scanners, continuous passive motion devices, and blood glucose monitors.
- Collect basic specimens and assist with routine clinical tasks.
- Assist with basic life support and other emergent interventions while waiting for licensed staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Serve as a preceptor/mentor to new Nursing Assistants when assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications (entry / GS-3 equivalent):
- U.S. citizenship required.
- One year of education beyond high school with coursework related to nursing assistant duties, OR successful completion of an intensive nursing assistant program.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English for direct patient-care roles.
Preferred / higher-level qualifications (GS-4 / GS-5 equivalents):
- GS-4: One year of specialized experience as a nursing assistant or experience in another medical field (LPN, health technician, corpsman), OR two years of post‑secondary education with health‑related courses.
- GS-5 (full performance level): One year of progressively responsible experience at or equivalent to GS-4, OR a bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester hours related to health care.
- Demonstrated KSAs: ability to perform a range of nursing tasks, therapeutic communication, mentorship/precepting, and recognition of emergent patient needs.
Other required qualifications:
- Ability to follow good body mechanics and meet physical demands: walking, standing, stooping, lifting, bending, pushing, and carrying as needed.
- Stamina to withstand stress in clinical settings.

- Applicants pending completion of required education/certification may be tentatively selected but cannot begin until all requirements are met.
- Grandfathering provisions may apply for qualifying incumbent employees; candidates who previously held positions but left the occupation will need to meet current standards on reentry.

- Salary range (provided by the client): $42,947 - $70,120 per year
