Key Responsibilities
Confidential Client is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and support clinical teams in a hospital, long-term care, or outpatient setting in Fayetteville, AR.
- Assist with the full range of nursing care under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN
- Support completion of nurse care plans and contribute to patient recovery
- Observe and report changes in patients’ physical or emotional status to supervisors in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks and use basic equipment (e.g., bladder scans, continuous passive motion devices, blood glucose monitors, specimen collection)
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as a preceptor to new Nursing Assistants when assigned, assisting with orientation and practical skill assessments
- Recognize and respond to emergent patient care situations (basic life support, bleeding control, behavior crisis support) while awaiting assistance
Required Qualifications
To comply with client policies and federal requirements, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship (required for this Confidential Client position)
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Six months of general work experience demonstrating ability to learn the NA role OR one year of education above high school with relevant courses OR completion of a specialized NA training program (may satisfy GS-03)
- Demonstrated ability to safely use relevant equipment and supplies and follow clinical procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks typical of the role: standing, lifting, carrying, sitting, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with health screenings (e.g., TB testing) as a condition of employment
Grade/level notes (selection may occur at any grade in range):
- GS-03 (Entry): Meets basic requirements listed above
- GS-04: One year specialized NA experience or equivalent education; required KSAs for intermediate duties
- GS-05 (Full Performance): One year experience at GS-04 level or bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours related to healthcare; demonstrates full professional KSAs
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of Mental Health and/or prior VA experience
- Experience acting as a preceptor or mentoring new staff
- Familiarity with therapeutic communication and working with patients with behavioral health needs
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range: $38,099 - $62,204 per year (base pay as provided by the client)
- Employment type: Full time
- Full performance level: GS-05 (actual hiring grade may be GS-03 to GS-05)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated clinical settings
- Role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks in sometimes stressful situations
- May require wearing PPE and completing routine health screenings
