Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Nursing Assistant for a Community Living Center in Butler, PA. This is a full-time, patient-care focused role that supports licensed nursing staff in acute, sub-acute, and long-term care settings. The role may be filled at the GS-03, GS-04, or GS-05 grade depending on experience and education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient/resident care and assist with implementation of the nurse care plan
• Observe and report changes in patients’ physical or emotional status in a timely manner
• Perform basic diagnostic/treatment support such as bladder scans, continuous passive motion devices, blood glucose monitoring, and specimen collection
• Communicate effectively with patients/residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Follow infection control and safety procedures; assist with mobility, daily living tasks, and basic life support until additional help arrives
• At higher grade assignments, serve as a preceptor/mentor and assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistants

Minimum qualifications (as provided by our client)

• United States Citizenship (per client requirement)
• One of the following to meet entry-level (GS-3) requirements:
  • Six months of general experience demonstrating the ability to acquire nursing assistant skills; or
  • One year of education above high school with courses related to Nursing Assistant duties; or
  • Completion of an intensive occupation-related training program of less than one year for Nursing Assistants
• For intermediate/full-performance levels (GS-4 / GS-5), candidates must meet one year of specialized or progressively responsible experience or equivalent education as described by the client
• Demonstrated abilities (KSAs) such as providing a range of patient care, therapeutic communication, proper use of basic clinical equipment, accurate observation and timely reporting, and effective teamwork
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Compensation & schedule

• Employment type: Full time
• Salary range (provided by client): $36,466 — $55,178 per year
