What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is seeking a Nursing Assistant (Community Living Center / CLC) to support inpatient and outpatient nursing services. This role focuses on safe, compassionate patient care and operational support across the facility.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed nursing staff with direct patient care for preventive, acute, sub-acute, chronic, maintenance, and hospice patients
  • Collect specimens and assist with basic clinical tests (blood draws, specimen handling)
  • Safely transport patients to/from diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds
  • Monitor and maintain wheelchair inventory and coordinate repairs or removal from service
  • Support infection control and sterile technique standards (hand hygiene, mask use, cleaning equipment)
  • Use clear verbal and written handoffs when transferring patient information
  • Assist with pharmacy and laboratory item transport and deliveries
  • Mentor and educate peers; serve as a preceptor or resource when assigned
  • Maintain safe and obstruction-free work areas; follow federal/state regulations and The Joint Commission standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum/basic requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Meet one of the experience/education pathways for Nursing Assistant (NA):
    • Six months of general experience demonstrating ability to acquire NA skills — OR
    • One year of post-high-school education with courses related to NA work — OR
    • Completion of an intensive occupation-related NA training program (under one year)

Grade-level qualification notes (final selection grade may range GS-3 to GS-5):

  • GS-03: Entry-level NA; meets basic requirements
  • GS-04: One year NA or related medical experience OR two years of relevant post-high-school education plus demonstrated KSAs (patient care, observation, equipment use, communication)
  • GS-05: One year of specialized NA experience equivalent to GS-04 OR a related bachelor’s degree with required KSAs (precepting, emergent response, complex patient care)

Required conditions of employment:

  • Successful completion of background/security investigation and pre-employment evaluation
  • Participation in required health programs (e.g., seasonal influenza vaccination)
  • Selective Service registration (if applicable)
  • Drug screening (urinalysis) where required for the position
  • Acceptable identity documentation for I-9 verification (note: as of 2025-05-07, non-REAL ID driver’s licenses cannot be used where REAL ID is required)
  • This position includes a 1–2 year trial period as a condition of employment

Preferred skills and attributes:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to recognize and respond to patient safety or behavior issues
  • Attention to detail and infection-control practices
  • Experience with specimen handling, patient transport, and basic clinical equipment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary estimate (as listed): $86,968 per year (estimated)
