What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide direct patient care in a clinical setting. The role supports licensed nursing staff and contributes to patient recovery, safety, and comfort across outpatient, long‑term care, and acute settings.

• Provide a range of patient/resident care consistent with care plans
• Observe patients’ physical and emotional status; report changes to supervisors promptly
• Assist licensed staff with basic and intermediate nursing tasks (e.g., specimen collection, blood glucose checks, bladder scans, use of simple therapeutic devices)
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Recognize and respond to emergent situations (basic life support awareness, bleeding control, behavioral crisis support) while awaiting licensed clinician assistance
• Serve as a preceptor/mentor to new NAs when assigned, helping coordinate orientation and assessing practical skills

Key Responsibilities & Scope

• Support licensed nurses in the full range of nursing care for patients receiving preventative, acute, sub‑acute, chronic, maintenance, hospice, or outpatient care
• Follow infection control, safety, and documentation procedures
• Properly operate and maintain basic diagnostic/treatment equipment and supplies
• Participate in care‑team communications and handoffs
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the NA scope of practice

Required Qualifications

These are based on the client’s qualification standards for this position. Applicants must meet at least one of the listed paths to qualify:

• U.S. Citizenship may be required for this role (per client policy)
• Proficiency in basic written and spoken English for direct patient care
• One of the following:
  • Six (6) months of general experience demonstrating ability to learn NA tasks, or
  • One year of post‑secondary study with courses related to nursing care, or
  • Completion of an intensive, occupation‑related training program for Nursing Assistants (may satisfy GS‑03 requirements)
• Candidates will be evaluated against grade‑level criteria:
  • GS‑03 — Entry level; meets basic requirements
  • GS‑04 — One (1) year relevant experience or two years post‑secondary education related to healthcare; must demonstrate KSAs such as effective patient care, observation, equipment use and communication
  • GS‑05 — One (1) year of progressively responsible experience equivalent to GS‑04 or a relevant bachelor’s degree (24 semester hours related to health care); demonstrates advanced KSAs including precepting, emergent response, and independent judgment

Preferred Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant / CNA certification preferred
• Experience in hospital, long‑term care, outpatient, or hospice settings
• Prior experience acting as a preceptor or mentor to new nursing staff
• Familiarity with basic diagnostic equipment and therapeutic devices

Compensation & Schedule

• Employment type: Full time
• Pay range: $38,547 – $62,936 per year (provided by Confidential Client)
• Actual grade and salary will depend on qualifications and grade level (GS‑03 through GS‑05)
