What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level Graduate Resident Nurse role on a cardiology telemetry unit. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an experienced registered nurse while participating in a Nurse Residency Program during your first year. You’ll learn unit workflows, complete clinical competencies, and deliver safe, patient-centered care for adults on a cardiology/telemetry floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, organized care for assigned patients using the nursing process (assessment, plan, implementation, evaluation).
- Perform systematic patient and family assessments appropriate to the cardiology/telemetry setting.
- Develop culturally competent care plans that identify patient problems, expected outcomes, and preventative actions.
- Administer medications and treatments per policy and under RN supervision.
- Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac rhythms according to unit protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team; educate patients and families about illness and treatment.
- Coordinate and assist with patient care activities and direct assistive personnel when appropriate.
- Participate in unit-based learning, quality improvement activities, mandatory education, and the Nurse Residency Program.
- Demonstrate professional behavior in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics and unit policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited/state-approved School of Nursing.
- Current license or eligibility to obtain licensure to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration (new graduates must provide NCLEX registration documentation when eligible).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- 0–1 years of related clinical experience (entry-level).
- Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate web-based applications.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and commitment to learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Clinical familiarity with telemetry or cardiac care is helpful but not required.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, patient advocacy, and evidence-based practice.
Schedule & Compensation
- Typical schedule: 36 hours per week, rotating day/night schedule.
- Pay Range: $37.00 - $37.00 per hour. This is the employer’s estimated base hourly wage for the role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, certifications, shift differentials, overtime, and other legally permissible factors.

- This role will require adherence to the employer’s confidentiality and behavioral policies and participation in mandatory education and competency assessments.
- The position requires participation in a Nurse Residency Program during the first year; clinical and educational time will be scheduled by nurse leadership.
