Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Nurse Resident for a high-acuity, 38-bed medical-surgical unit that specializes in Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Trauma. This is an entry-level Registered Nurse role designed for newly licensed nurses and graduates. You will provide supervised direct patient care while participating in a year-long Nurse Residency Program that supports clinical skill development, professional growth, and safe patient-centered practice.
What You’ll Do
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care on a fast-paced Med-Surg/Ortho-Neuro/Trauma unit under RN supervision.
- Participate in a Nurse Residency Program with a mix of clinical and educational time during your first year.
- Perform systematic patient and family assessments and develop culturally competent plans of care.
- Administer medications and treatments, and coordinate care with assistive personnel and interdisciplinary teams.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and preventive care.
- Demonstrate professional communication and teamwork with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff.
- Support unit regulatory readiness, mandatory competencies, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Apply evidence-based practice and engage in continuous learning and self-reflection.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a state-approved/accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications: Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration OR NCLEX documentation if pending. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Experience: 0–1 years of related experience; this role is suitable for newly licensed nurses.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, basic computer literacy for electronic charting and web-based systems.
- Other: Ability to work rotating 24-hour schedules (day/night rotation every 4 weeks), including weekends and holidays.
Schedule & Compensation
- Employment type: Full-time
- Schedule: 24-hour shifts with rotating day/night schedule every 4 weeks; weekend and holiday rotations required.
- Pay Range: $37.00 - $37.00 per hour (base hourly wage). Actual compensation may vary based on experience, certifications, shift differentials, and other legally permissible factors.

- Training: Newly licensed nurses are enrolled in a comprehensive year-long Nurse Residency Program to support clinical skill acquisition and professional development.
- Immunizations & safety: Our client requires seasonal influenza vaccination as a condition of employment, with legally required accommodations considered. Additional mandatory education and competencies must be completed as part of employment.
