Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Nurse Resident to join a Medicine Telemetry unit in Boston, MA. This position is part of a structured 12‑month Transition to Practice: Nurse Residency Program that combines unit-based precepted clinical orientation with monthly seminars and mentorship to accelerate clinical competence and critical thinking. This role works a 36‑hour rotating shift schedule.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care and make nursing judgments using the nursing process.
  • Systematically assess patient health needs; develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Coordinate patient care and direct assistive personnel to ensure safe, efficient, equitable, and timely clinical care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet patients’ and families’ healthcare needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff; begin to act as a patient advocate.
  • Participate in mandatory annual education and unit-based competency training.
  • Enroll automatically in the 12‑month Nurse Residency curriculum, attend monthly seminars, and engage in guided clinical reflection and feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) required.
  • 0–1 years of related work experience; position is designed for new graduate nurses.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate web-based clinical applications.
  • Ability to work 36‑hour rotating shifts.

Preferred / Helpful

  • Clinical rotations or internship experience on medical-surgical or telemetry units.
  • Strong interest in telemetry, cardiac, pulmonary, endocrine, or complex medical care populations.

Patient Age Groups & Physical Requirements

  • Age-based care competency: Neonatal (Birth–6 months), Young Adult (16–30), Middle Age (30–60), Elderly (60+).
  • Physical nature: Medium work — may exert up to 50 lbs occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs frequently; requires standing/walking for most of the shift.

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Employment type: Full-time (36‑hour rotating schedule).
  • Pay range: $38.00 – $98.19 per hour. Actual pay is determined by experience, education, certifications, shift differentials, and other permissible factors.
  • Confidential Client may require influenza vaccination as a condition of employment consistent with its policies.
