What You’ll Do

As a Clinical Nurse I participating in the Nurse Residency / Transition to Practice (TTP) program, you will provide direct, patient-centered nursing care on a medical–surgical inpatient unit. Typical responsibilities include:

• Provide safe, effective direct care for patients with varied diagnoses (e.g., heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, diabetes, advanced wound care, behavioral health, dementia, delirium).
• Systematically assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
• Coordinate patient care and collaborate with assistive personnel and interdisciplinary team members to support timely, equitable, and efficient care.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and clinical team members; serve as a patient advocate as you develop clinical judgment.
• Maintain required annual and unit-based competencies and participate in ongoing learning and clinical skills development.
• Follow established policies and escalate concerns to nursing leadership or clinical specialists as needed.

Training & Support

• Participate in the 12-month Transition to Practice (TTP) Nurse Residency Program combining an evidence-based TTP curriculum (Vizient/AACN) with unit-based precepted clinical orientation.
• Receive unit leadership support, structured preceptorship, and ongoing professional development designed for new graduate nurses.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 0–1 year(s) of related nursing experience (entry-level/new graduate).
• Basic computer skills and comfort navigating web-based clinical applications.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Unit: 28-bed medical–surgical inpatient unit (medical-surgical patient population).
• Schedule: 36‑hour rotating shifts.
• Physical demands: medium work — may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs frequently; prolonged standing and mobility throughout shifts.

Compensation & Pay Transparency

• Pay range (base hourly): $38.00 - $98.19 per hour.
• The listed range is the employer’s estimated base hourly wage for this position. Final pay will be determined by factors including experience, credentials, shift differentials, and applicable laws. Additional compensation (shift differentials, call pay, overtime) may apply where permitted.
