Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking entry-level Clinical Nurse I candidates to join a Farr 8-style Medical-Surgical / Transplant unit in Boston, MA. This role participates in a structured 12-month Transition to Practice: Nurse Residency Program that combines monthly seminars and hands-on precepted clinical experience. The unit cares for kidney, liver and pancreas transplant patients across perioperative and postoperative phases and provides an opportunity to develop transplant nursing expertise.

What you’ll do

• Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care and make nursing judgments using the nursing process.
• Assess patient needs, formulate and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer blood products, high-risk IV medications, and immunosuppressive therapies per policy.
• Deliver patient and family education on post‑transplant care, graft monitoring, drain management, medication adherence and lifestyle modifications.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and direct assistive personnel to ensure safe, timely care.
• Participate in the 12‑month Nurse Residency curriculum (monthly seminars + precepted clinical experiences).
• Maintain mandatory annual education and unit-based competencies.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state of practice.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 0–1 years of related nursing experience; this is an entry-level/new graduate position.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use web-based clinical applications.

Preferred / helpful experience

• Clinical rotations or internship experience in medical-surgical or transplant care.
• Familiarity with IV medications, blood product administration, and patient education best practices.

Physical demands & schedule

• Medium work: may exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to stand and move for the majority of each shift.
• Schedule: 36‑hour rotating shifts (day/night rotation).

Compensation & benefits

• Pay range (base hourly): $38.00 - $98.19 per hour. This range is the base hourly wage the organization reasonably expects to pay at this time. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, certifications, shift differentials, and other lawful factors.
• Participants are automatically enrolled in the 12‑month Nurse Residency Program to support clinical transition and professional growth.
• Additional benefits and eligibility details will be provided by Confidential Client.
