What You’ll Do

You will join a Confidential Client team supporting the First-Generation Student Center and serve as the subject-matter expert for grant compliance and department financial management.

  • Manage up to 18 accounts (state, gift, and grant-funded), including setup, annual budgets, and close-outs.
  • Prepare budget forecasts, monthly reconciliations, and monthly/annual cost reports.
  • Perform financial analysis, review budget variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to inform strategic funding decisions.
  • Support department leadership during university, federal, and state regulatory audits; prepare required financial data and maintain audit documentation across multiple federal grant types.
  • Perform data entry and verification, integrity audits, and maintain financial records.
  • Train staff on policies, procedures, and grant compliance requirements.
  • Oversee HR functions for the department’s student and hourly workforce, including hiring support, onboarding, training, payroll oversight, and time-and-effort reporting certification for grant-funded positions.
  • Manage department travel, purchase card reconciliations, procurement of supplies, and inventory/asset ordering, reporting, and tracking.

Qualifications

Required (must meet one):

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience; OR
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent and three (3) years of program support experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada state service (including applying complex laws/regulations, composing written materials, and maintaining records); OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Core abilities and experience we expect:

  • Demonstrated experience with grant-funded account management, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing documentation for audits and maintaining compliant financial records across multiple grant types.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to train staff and coordinate departmental processes.
  • Proven competence with payroll oversight, time-and-effort reporting, and basic HR coordination for student employees.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Employment type: Full time
  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to organizational needs)
  • Compensation grade: Grade 31
  • Estimated annual pay (from source): $53,220 per year (estimated)
