Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Graduate Resident Nurse for the Neurosciences Critical Care / Progressive Care Unit in Burlington, VT. This is a full-time position that includes enrollment in a Nurse Residency Program during the first year, structured clinical and educational time, and eligibility for a sign-on bonus (terms apply).
What You’ll Do
You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision while developing critical-care clinical judgment and leadership skills during your residency year.
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process.
- Conduct systematic patient and family assessments and develop culturally competent plans of care.
- Administer medications and treatments, assist with care coordination, and direct assistive personnel when appropriate.
- Deliver age-appropriate care for adult/neurosciences patients in a progressive/critical care setting.
- Participate in the unit’s Nurse Residency Program, clinical training, and competency evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and educate patients and families.
- Contribute to quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and unit-based initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
- Graduate of a state‑approved or accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Vermont, or eligibility for licensure/compact licensure in Vermont. Graduating nursing students must provide NCLEX registration documentation when eligible.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 0–1 years of related experience (entry-level). Basic computer literacy and ability to use web-based applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, lifelong learning, and professional standards.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- BSN degree.
- Experience or clinical rotation exposure to neuroscience, progressive care, or intensive care settings.
- Familiarity with unit-based competencies and emergency skill maintenance.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay Range: $37.00 - $37.00 per hour (base hourly wage).
- Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus (example: up to $10,000) subject to program terms and conditions — inquire for details.
- Compensation may vary based on experience, education, shift differentials, and other lawful factors. Additional benefits and total rewards will be provided by the hiring organization.
