What You’ll Do
This field-based Neurophysiologist (Associate Neurophysiologist / Neuromonitoring Specialist) provides intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) during surgical procedures to help protect patient neurological function and support surgical teams with real-time neural data.
- Obtain relevant medical history and consult with the surgical team on structures at risk and monitoring modalities
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot neuromonitoring equipment and accessories
- Record, display, label, and interpret neurophysiologic waveforms; measure latencies, amplitudes, and conduction times per established protocols
- Communicate findings, alerts, and trends to surgeons and OR staff throughout cases
- Complete required documentation, IOM logs, and timely digital file uploads
- Follow established protocols to select appropriate monitoring modalities and troubleshooting steps
- Adhere to professional, regulatory, and company compliance standards
- Perform other duties as assigned to support patient safety and case efficiency
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree (entry level candidates are encouraged to apply; full training provided)
- CNIM eligibility required via an ABRET-recognized pathway (e.g., Bachelor’s degree, R EEG T or R EP T certification, or graduation from a CAAHEP/NIM IOM program)
- Basic knowledge of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), human anatomy & physiology, and technical troubleshooting preferred
- Operating Room (OR) experience is a plus
- Strong time-management and organizational skills; ability to handle schedule changes and OR demands
- Effective verbal and written communication skills — able to collaborate with surgeons and surgical staff in English
- Ability to travel regularly and work a field schedule (see Travel & Physical Demands)
- Maintain or obtain hospital privileges and meet any applicable vaccination or credentialing requirements
- Eligible for medical malpractice insurance at standard rates (provided by the company)
- Commit to obtaining and maintaining CNIM certification

Travel & Physical Demands
- Field-based role with up to 25% travel
- Must be able to transport and set up neuromonitoring equipment (up to ~50 lbs) promptly in the OR
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, use visual and auditory skills, and wear required PPE (gloves, masks, gowns, eyewear) during procedures
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay: $35,319 per year (estimated)
