What You’ll Do
This field-based Neurophysiologist will provide intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM) during surgical procedures across facilities in Texas. You will monitor the patient’s nervous system, communicate real-time findings to the surgical team, and help reduce surgical risk through accurate data collection and interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Obtain detailed medical histories and consult with surgeons about structures at risk and monitoring modalities.
- Communicate monitoring updates and alerts to surgeons and OR staff throughout cases.
- Display, label, mark, and measure waveforms (latencies, amplitudes, conduction times) following established protocols.
- Select and apply appropriate monitoring protocols; troubleshoot technical issues to assure accurate data.
- Complete required documentation and timely uploads of IOM logs and records.
- Maintain neuromonitoring equipment and complete required maintenance checks.
- Adhere to company policies, codes of conduct, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience, or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) — certification must be maintained.
- Knowledge of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), human anatomy & physiology, and technical troubleshooting preferred.
- Operating Room (OR) experience preferred.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to manage competing demands and schedule variability in the OR.
- Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to collaborate with surgeons and surgical staff in English.
- Ability to travel (up to ~25%) and to work in a field-based capacity.
- Must be eligible for and maintain hospital privileges as required and meet applicable physical/vaccination requirements.
- Eligible for company-provided medical malpractice coverage at standard rates.
Travel & Physical Demands
- Up to 25% travel within Texas; field-based work requires reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to transport and set up equipment (~50 lbs total), stand for extended periods, bend, and use manual dexterity while wearing PPE.
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor equipment and patient signals.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base pay: $35,364 per year (estimated; source-provided).
