What You’ll Do
This Confidential Client is seeking an overnight Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to monitor and maintain high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air-to-ground data communications equipment. This is an onsite, 3rd-shift (overnight) role supporting a 24x7x365 operations center.
- Monitor network management systems and engage telecom providers to drive restoration efforts.
- Track incident details and update the incident management tool promptly and accurately.
- Troubleshoot network and system issues; resolve or escalate according to severity and procedures.
- Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance routines; develop tools to improve efficiency.
- Participate in network solution design and configuration activities.
- Provide routine technical guidance to customers and internal business units.
- Work with senior team members to resolve moderate-to-complex incidents; may lead resolution of less complex issues.
- Maintain excellent customer service while following established processes and documentation standards.
Who We’re Looking For
Required skills & qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP networking, computer hardware/software interfacing, and common networking protocols.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting in a NOC environment.
- Understanding of ITIL/ITSM concepts and incident management best practices.
- AA/AS degree (or 2-year post-high school training) plus a minimum of 6 years relevant experience; OR in lieu of degree, 8 years relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree with less than 2 years relevant experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. This position will not offer sponsorship.
- Strong customer service and communication skills; able to follow established procedures and use discretion when necessary.
Preferred:
- CCNA certification.
- Experience with Remedy, Netcool, ServiceNow, or Office 365.
Details
- Shift: Overnight (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM). This role supports a 24x7x365 operation and may require some weekends/holidays.
- Location: Annapolis, MD — fully onsite.
- Employment type: Contract to Hire (CONTRACTOR).
- Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour. Actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
