What You’ll Do

This role is part of a 24x7 Network Operations Center supporting critical services. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor network management systems and escalate to telecom providers to support restoral efforts
  • Track incident details and keep records current and accurate in the incident management tool
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine system and network issues; escalate moderate-to-complex incidents to senior team members
  • Oversee high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and Air-to-Ground data communications equipment
  • Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance routines and develop tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Participate in network solutions design, configuration, and operational testing
  • Provide clear customer guidance and maintain strong customer service throughout incident lifecycle
  • Work rotating overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of a continuous operations team

Qualifications

Basic requirements:

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, computer hardware, and software interfacing
  • Understanding of ITIL / ITSM concepts and practices
  • Education / experience: AA/AS degree or other 2-year post-high-school training plus a minimum of 6 years relevant experience; OR without HS diploma/GED/AA/AS, 8 years relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with less than 2 years relevant experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future — Confidential Client will not provide sponsorship for this position

Preferred:

  • CCNA certification
  • Experience with Remedy, Netcool, ServiceNow, Office 365

Skills & Tools

  • NOC operations, network monitoring, network troubleshooting
  • TCP/IP, routing and switching fundamentals, networking protocols
  • Incident management tools (Remedy, Netcool, ServiceNow)
  • Strong written and verbal customer service and shift-handover practices
  • Scripting or tooling to automate repetitive operational tasks (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour (Contract-to-hire)
  • Individual compensation depends on experience, skills, and other job-related factors

Workplace & Schedule

  • This is a fully onsite position in Annapolis, MD
  • Shift: Overnight (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM). This is a 24x7 operation and requires some weekends and holidays
