Role overview
Confidential Client is seeking a .NET Software Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain backend-focused services and responsive web interfaces that support mission-critical healthcare financial solutions. You will work across the full application stack, primarily with C#/.NET on the backend, and contribute to UI features using Blazor and JavaScript. This role works within Agile teams and participates across the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and ongoing support.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure applications using C# and .NET.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that integrate with enterprise systems.
- Develop responsive web UI components using Blazor, JavaScript, HTML, and jQuery when required.
- Write efficient SQL queries and database objects to support application functionality.
- Translate complex business needs into maintainable, well-tested code and systems.
- Apply engineering best practices: unit and integration testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, architects, and peers in Agile ceremonies.
- Use Git and modern source-control workflows to manage code collaboratively.
- Contribute to cloud-based deployments and operations (Azure or AWS).
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to increase productivity and maintain quality.
- Identify and drive improvements that reduce technical debt and improve performance.
Minimum qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating backend services.
- Experience building web front-ends with Blazor and familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and jQuery.
- Solid experience with SQL and relational database design and optimization.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative branching/PR workflows.
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing practices.
- Comfortable working in Agile teams and participating in sprint planning and refinement.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred; AWS acceptable).
- Familiarity with healthcare domain concepts, claim/payment flows, or financial platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools for testing, documentation, or code generation.
- Understanding of software design patterns and clean architecture principles.
