Natural Gas Utility Engineer-Entry Level
The Natural Gas Utility Engineer at Confidential Client will support a large-scale natural gas pipeline replacement program by preparing construction plans, conducting site analyses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating project activities. This entry-level role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

What You’ll Do
You will support a large-scale natural gas distribution infrastructure improvement program focused on accelerating pipeline replacement. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Interpret data and research records related to natural gas facilities.
- Prepare construction plans, including proposed pipeline installation routes.
- Conduct field visits to observe site conditions and analyze proposed routes.
- Size and select residential and commercial service lines based on existing conditions and future load requirements.
- Ensure projects follow applicable pipeline safety and regulatory requirements.
- Create GIS maps to display project limits and technical details.
- Estimate bills of materials for projects.
- Prepare road opening permits and associated traffic-control plans when applicable.
- Facilitate project status meetings with the client and project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Civil Engineering preferred).
- 0–2 years’ related experience preferred (entry-level candidates encouraged).
- AutoCAD experience required.
- Proficiency with MS Office and effective written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week initially in person; travel required.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
Employment Details
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Work location: Ellisburg, NJ (position requires initial in-person work and travel).
- Estimated compensation: $120,655 per year (estimated; actual base salary may vary based on experience, credentials, internal equity, market data, and geographic location).
