What You’ll Do

This entry-level Data Scientist role will give you hands-on experience across the data lifecycle while working remotely with a cross-functional engineering and analytics team. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assist with data collection, cleaning, and transformation to prepare datasets for analysis and modeling
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and create visualizations to uncover trends and insights
  • Build, validate, and deploy basic supervised and unsupervised machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering)
  • Write reproducible Python code and notebooks using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib/seaborn
  • Query relational databases and write performant SQL for feature engineering and reporting
  • Collaborate with engineers to productionize models and move analyses into repeatable pipelines
  • Document code, assumptions, and results; present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Learn and adopt best practices for model evaluation, versioning, and testing

Who We’re Looking For

We seek motivated, early-career candidates who are eager to grow in data science and analytics roles. Ideal qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Hands-on experience (projects, internships, coursework) with Python and SQL
  • Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals: regression, classification, cross-validation, and feature engineering
  • Experience with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn; visualization skills (matplotlib, seaborn, or similar)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and data storytelling skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across teams
  • Preferred but not required: experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), basic knowledge of MLOps or data engineering tools, and familiarity with big-data frameworks

Compensation & Location

  • Employment type: Full-time (Telecommute / Remote)

  • Estimated salary range: $95,000 — $160,000 per year (approximate and may vary based on experience, location, and the confidential client’s compensation policies). Final salary is set by the confidential client.
