Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Multidisciplined Engineer (Thermal/Nuclear Analysis) to join an engineering team in Niskayuna, NY. This is a full-time, early-career role focused on analytical thermal modeling, heat transfer, and supporting nuclear propulsion-related engineering activities. The position offers hands-on mentorship, clear career growth, and a competitive salary range of $63,900–$97,800 per year.
What You’ll Do
You will work on thermal and nuclear analysis tasks that support engineering design, testing, and fleet support functions. Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform analytical calculations and thermal modeling for components and systems
- Support thermal-hydraulic and heat transfer evaluations using analytical methods and simulation tools
- Prepare and review technical reports, notebooks, and documentation
- Work with multi-discipline teams to integrate thermal analysis with mechanical and systems engineering activities
- Contribute to design reviews, test planning, and validation activities
- Learn and apply finite element analysis (FEA) and computational tools under senior mentorship
- Maintain thorough, defensible engineering documentation that supports regulatory and safety requirements
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications (required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering/science discipline — or a Master’s degree in a related field
- Strong academic performance and coursework in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermal design, or finite element analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assignments and collaboratively on small project teams
- Experience writing technical reports; co-op or internship experience is a plus
Preferred skills:
- Degrees in Mechanical Engineering or Physics preferred
- Familiarity with thermal modeling tools, FEA packages, or CFD is advantageous
- Basic experience with engineering software (MATLAB, Python, or similar) is a plus

- Base salary: $63,900 — $97,800 per year (range provided by Confidential Client; final pay depends on experience, qualifications, and business considerations)
