Mortgage Loan Originator
The Mortgage Loan Originator at Confidential Client is responsible for originating and managing mortgage loans by interviewing applicants, advising on suitable loan programs, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role involves business development, pipeline management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaboration with sales and operations teams to ensure a smooth loan process. The position requires strong communication skills, mortgage licensing, and the ability to work on-site with occasional overtime and travel.

What You’ll Do
This role supports mortgage origination and business development for the confidential client’s mortgage organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Interview mortgage applicants to explain financing options and advise on loan programs that meet their goals
- Originate loans and manage the full pipeline from application through funding
- Maintain accurate notes and reports in origination software and CRM systems
- Review new leads daily and proactively contact prospects to earn business
- Coordinate with operations and underwriting to keep loans on schedule and resolve issues quickly
- Provide timely disclosures and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Make loan-product presentations to sales staff and at builder community events
- Market the company’s mortgage products to internal and external referral sources (builder communities, real estate offices)
- Provide weekend and occasional overnight travel coverage for grand openings and community events
- Attend loan closings and assist with post-closing/funding problem resolution as needed
- Conduct all business professionally and ethically to protect customer interests and the client’s reputation
Qualifications
Required minimums for consideration:
- Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator as required by the state of licensure
- 1–2 years of related mortgage or financial services experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Solid understanding of mortgage processes (lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory timelines)
- Proficiency with MS Office and email; comfortable with loan origination and CRM software
- Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work overtime and travel overnight when required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; customer-focused and detail-oriented
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Bilingual skills
- Experience working with builder-affiliated mortgage programs
- High volume origination experience and strong pipeline management
- Prior experience presenting to builder sales teams or real estate partners
Compensation & Location
- Employment type: Full-time
- Location: Kingsport, TN (primary work location)
- Estimated pay (as listed by source): $27,681 per year — pay estimates may vary; final compensation will be set by the confidential client and compliant with applicable state and federal pay laws.
