Responsibilities
The Confidential Client is seeking a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Integration Engineer (Junior) to support system-level test events in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment. Typical responsibilities include:
- Participate in all phases of M&S framework integration for Ground Test (GT), Flight Test (FT) and Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities.
- Support test planning, functionality tracing, and verification of OSF framework build requirements for events.
- Serve as the DES-I representative to the M&S Event Mission Manager for assigned GT/FT/CDI events.
- Act as an interface/focal point with integrator/NOSC teams to resolve OSF framework issues and coordinate DES-I team responses.
- Draft and distribute End-of-Day (EOD) reports to keep stakeholders apprised of event progress.
- Coordinate communications (phone lines, bridges, SVOIPs, etc.) between labs and supporting teams during events.
- Draft and submit PERSTAT (personnel status) reports and track pre-deployment prerequisites for traveling personnel.
- Assist with meeting coordination: prepare slide decks, schedule and facilitate DES-I internal coordination briefings, and manage action items.
- Support scheduling and coordination of test resources (facilities, personnel, on-console software, CRs) for MDS-level test events.
- Engage product configuration management for event-related routing and tracking of configuration changes.
- Support occasional off-nominal work hours (nights/weekends) as required by event schedules.
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- 0–5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience without degree).
- Demonstrated ability to work in technically challenging environments and interface with simulation framework developers, integrators, data analysts, test planners and stakeholders.
- Self-starter who can work with minimal direction.
- Good understanding of Missile Defense System (MDS) infrastructure and Element capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills; proven team-player across multiple contractor and government interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting integrated system-level test events (GT/FT/CDI).
- Experience with staffing coordination for deployed teams.
- Entry-level familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures and MDS Element operations.
- Understanding of Developmental Testing (DT) and Operational Testing (OT).
- Higher clearance (TS/SCI) is a plus where program needs allow.
Logistics & Work Conditions
- Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL (on-site work expected in support of event activities).
- Travel: Up to 10–25% to support mission-critical events and meetings.
- Work schedule: Occasional nights and weekends required to meet event-driven timelines.
- Clearance & export controls: Position requires an active DoD Secret clearance. This role involves information subject to ITAR/EAR compliance; applicants must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) and may be required to provide documentation verifying U.S. person status. Some roles may require U.S. citizenship due to contract terms.
