About the Role
The Mission Design & Analysis Engineer I is an entry-level role supporting senior engineers on mission design and analysis projects for a Confidential Client in the Engineering industry. You will help define mission parameters, derive driving mission requirements, and produce mission-level modeling and simulation results to inform spacecraft and system-of-systems design decisions. This role emphasizes hands-on modeling, basic analysis, technical documentation, and clear communication with the broader design team.
Employment type: Contractor (Full-time contract)
What You’ll Do
- Support senior engineers with mission design, modeling, and analysis tasks
- Build and run constellation and system-of-systems models to evaluate mission performance
- Produce mission modeling and simulation data using analytical methods and mission-level tools
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data related to mission design and system performance
- Prepare technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing
- Help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- Typically entry-level: 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of systems design and development principles
- Ability to work in a team and follow direction from senior engineers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or coursework in mission design, astrodynamics, or system-of-systems engineering
- Familiarity with industry mission and systems modeling tools and languages such as STK, FreeFlyer, Cameo EA, SysML, Matlab, Python, or similar
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic engineering environment
Compensation
- Pay Range: $77,685.00 - $106,816.50 per year
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
