About the Role
The confidential client is seeking a Mid Level Cloud Software Engineer (Full-Stack & AI focus) to design, build, and deploy scalable, secure cloud-native systems for federal customers. You will work across hybrid, on-premises, and multi-cloud (AWS/Azure GovCloud) environments to integrate AI/ML workflows, develop backend services, and create responsive web UIs that deliver mission-critical insights to analysts.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, test, and maintain highly available, secure microservices and cloud components across AWS and Microsoft Azure (GovCloud and commercial).
- Build modern, responsive web user interfaces and dashboards using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Integrate cognitive services, vector databases, and LLM/Generative AI capabilities into data pipelines to enable automated insight discovery.
- Support distributed data processing workflows and event-driven messaging systems for high-throughput cyber datasets.
- Collaborate with technical teams to analyze software behaviors and support development of custom data extraction/recovery tooling.
- Participate in DevSecOps: Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipeline automation, and automated testing to ensure secure, reliable deployments.
- Work with senior architects, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate requirements into deployable features.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical STEM discipline.
- 2+ years of progressive software development experience delivering scalable applications in production or operational environments.
- Hands-on backend experience with one or more of: Python, Java, C#, or C/C++.
- Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell) and proficiency with Git.
- Practical experience deploying and interacting with cloud services in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Solid foundation in RESTful API design, relational and NoSQL databases, and core software design principles.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Quantico, VA to support federal customer environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue), and visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js).
- Exposure to AI/ML and LLM orchestration (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock).
- Familiarity with containerization and distributed systems: Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Elasticsearch, Redis.
- Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure ARM/Bicep.
- Network/cyber tool familiarity (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump) and basic OS internals.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000 - $145,000 per year. This represents the anticipated base salary for successful candidates; actual pay will be determined by experience, education, certifications, clearance level, geographic location, and internal equity.

Location & Clearance
- Work location: On-site in Quantico, VA (work on federal customer environments across hybrid/multi-cloud).
