Position Overview

This entry-level Microbiology Lab Technician role supports quality control testing and autoclave sterilization requalification in a regulated GMP environment for a Confidential Client in the Scientific & QA industry. The role is hands-on and routine-focused — typical tasks include pH and conductivity measurements, solution preparation, autoclaving, glassware cleaning, environmental monitoring sample testing, and basic assays. You will use laboratory instrumentation and LIMS to collect and record data, support compliance with SOPs and regulations (FDA, GLP, QSR, cGMP), and participate in cross-functional activities to improve quality and efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Perform biological, chemical, and physical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products (pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices).
  • Conduct environmental monitoring sample testing at manufacturing facilities.
  • Set up test apparatus and execute tests to ensure compliance with methods, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out routine lab tasks: pH and conductivity measurements, solution prep, autoclaving, and glassware cleaning.
  • Operate entry-level lab instrumentation and use LIMS or other lab systems to capture and review data.
  • Perform assays requiring precise technique and fundamental biology/chemistry knowledge.
  • Complete assigned testing and special projects within required timelines and per protocol.
  • Maintain data integrity; prepare exception documentation for deviations, OOS/OOL results when needed.
  • Assist in laboratory and manufacturing audits and update plant SOPs as required.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving that improves production, reduces cost, and raises quality.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • Familiarity with basic wet-lab techniques (pH, conductivity, solution preparation, autoclaving).
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs and maintain accurate records in regulated environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Comfortable working in a routine, repetitive task environment while maintaining quality.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with LIMS or comparable lab data systems is a plus.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Job Type & Location

  • Contract to Hire — onsite in Saint Paul, MN (Confidential Client).

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $22.00 - $22.00 per hour.
  • Actual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
