Position summary

Confidential Client is seeking entry-level Mergers & Acquisitions Consultants to join their M&A practice in Lauderdale, MN. This role delivers hands-on experience across the full deal lifecycle — due diligence, carve-out and merger integration planning, post-close execution and value-creation work — while working with cross-functional teams and client leadership. This is a full-time, hybrid role with significant travel (up to 50%).


What You’ll Do

  • Support operational and technology due diligence during deal execution, including site visits and data collection
  • Assess operating models, organizational structures, processes, and technology stacks against industry benchmarks
  • Help plan and manage carve-outs, Day 1 readiness, and merger integration activities with cross-functional teams
  • Deliver post-close execution work (e.g., SMO/IMO) to capture deal value and drive operational improvements
  • Prepare request lists, agendas, deliverables, and client-facing materials under engagement leadership guidance
  • Contribute to sell-side advisory: evaluate readiness, prepare diligence materials, and support management interactions
  • Apply AI and advanced analytics tools to accelerate insight generation, improve delivery efficiency, and support recommendations
  • Support development of methodologies, work plans, and statements of work for prospective engagements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress with an expected graduation between December 2026 and August 2027. Candidates must be on track to graduate within this window; graduation date will be verified
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the assigned office prior to start date (hybrid work model)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%; travel expenses covered by Confidential Client
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., generative AI) into workflows to boost productivity, with critical thinking to validate outputs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Majors such as Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or Supply Chain Management
  • Any prior internship or project experience in M&A, consulting, corporate strategy, operations, or technology assessment

Compensation & Location

  • Estimated compensation: $160,166 per year (estimated)
  • Location: Lauderdale, MN (hybrid; must reside within 50 miles of assigned office)
