About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Merchandising Data Analyst to join the Planning team in New York, NY. This hands-on role ensures leadership has accurate, timely, and well-organized data to make informed merchandising and inventory decisions. You’ll work across channels — direct-to-consumer digital, wholesale, luxury hospitality concessions, and independent boutiques — and own critical parts of the team’s data infrastructure, normalization, and weekly recaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the weekly recapping process so business dashboards are current, accurate, and ready for Planning leadership review.
- Act as the primary gatekeeper for data hygiene: intake, clean, and normalize disparate or “dirty” datasets into a single, reliable view of sales and inventory.
- Build and maintain forecasting tools in Excel, leveraging expert-level Power Pivot and Microsoft Data Models for robust planning.
- Monitor sell-through and inventory levels; identify and flag discrepancies and work with the team to resolve issues before escalation.
- Convert manual administrative tasks into repeatable, automated processes that align financial targets with inventory realities.
- Support analytics and reporting needs across channels, including wholesale and retail partnerships.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in retail planning, merchandising, or data analysis.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Pivot and Microsoft Data Models (required).
- Familiarity with Power BI (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for planning and leadership.
- Comfortable building repeatable processes and working through evolving systems.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000 per year.
