What You’ll Do
Careertakes is assisting a confidential client hiring Mental Health Counselors for an Intensive In-Home program serving children, adolescents, and families. This role provides evidence-based, home-based clinical services aimed at preventing out-of-home placements.
- Deliver intensive, home-based therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing case management.
- Use evidence-based models (TFCBT, PCIT, ESFT) in treatment and apply clinical best practices.
- Coordinate with caregivers, schools, and community providers to support client goals and safety planning.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and data tracking.
- Participate in supervision, case consultation, and professional development activities.
- Provide crisis intervention and maintain appropriate boundaries while working in community and home settings.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related human services field preferred. Bachelors-level candidates will be considered with at least 2 years’ experience working with child/adolescent mental health populations.
- Newly provisionally licensed clinicians (LCSWA, LCMHCA) or recent graduates seeking provisional licensure are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children/adolescents and families preferred if holding a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience or interest in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), or Eco-Systemic Family Therapy (ESFT) is a strong plus.
- Strong documentation, time management, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client homes (if providing in-person services). Remote/telehealth work may be part of the role where allowed.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience working in community-based, home, or intensive service settings.
- Familiarity with provisional licensure processes and openness to supervision toward full licensure.
- Empathy, cultural humility, and ability to engage families from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfort with electronic health records and outcome measurement tools.
Compensation & Location
- Estimated compensation: $58,574 per year (estimated).
- Location: Mundelein, IL — role includes intensive in-home services and includes REMOTE/telehealth components where appropriate.
- Employment type: Full-time (typical), with supervision provided toward licensure.
