What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level Supplier / Medical Quality Engineer role supporting engine-related manufacturing and external suppliers. Working for a Confidential Client in Industrial & Engine Manufacturing, you will help ensure supplier processes and products meet technical, regulatory, and customer expectations through APQP, PPAP, audits, and continuous improvement.
- Support supplier quality initiatives that enable operational and strategic goals.
- Build effective cross-functional relationships (suppliers, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, customers).
- Learn and apply APQP, AIAG tools, and company specialty tools to develop or improve supplier manufacturing/process controls.
- Participate in supplier audits and, when certified, lead lower-complexity audits.
- Support resolution of supplier-related quality issues and lead lower-risk corrective actions as experience grows.
- Contribute to product/process improvement projects using lean and Six Sigma methods.
- Apply GD&T and engineering standards to interpret technical drawings and measurement requirements.
- Use DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Source Release and PPAP to validate manufacturing processes.
- Design measurement and validation processes to meet industry and customer requirements.
- Use statistical methods to analyze process performance and support data-driven decisions.
- Develop and execute supplier improvement plans and supplier quality project workstreams.
- Evaluate supplier product reliability, manufacturing process design, and validation plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Industrial Engineering considered) or related technical/scientific discipline.
- Within 2 years of completing highest degree (this posting targets early-career / exempt entry-level candidates).
- Exposure to manufacturing, quality, or engineering coursework or internships.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA.
- Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working with cross-functional teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Eligibility note for international students (U.S.-based roles): F-1 visa holders must have approved CPT or OPT before an assignment begins.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Coursework or internship experience in supplier or manufacturing quality.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with GD&T and measurement systems preferred.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methods and statistical analysis tools.
- Demonstrated project management or teamwork on product/process improvement initiatives.
Compensation & Location
- Estimated salary: $79,743 per year (estimated figure from source posting).
- Location: North Carolina (role is based in-state; relocation or travel expectations will be set by the hiring organization).
- Employment type: Full-time, Exempt — Entry Level.
