What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for an overnight (3rd shift) role. You will deliver accurate, timely laboratory testing and support patient care in a hospital laboratory setting.
- Perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing per established policies and procedures
- Analyze patient specimens across Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and Microbiology as applicable
- Execute quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable results
- Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments
- Review, verify, and report patient results to providers in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and applicable hospital regulatory standards
- Accurately document testing, maintenance, QC, and corrective actions
- Communicate results and technical concerns effectively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff
- Assist with specimen processing and overnight workflow management to keep operations running smoothly
- Participate in competency assessments, continuing education, and departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related laboratory science field
- MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), MLT (ASCP), AMT, or equivalent certification preferred — or eligibility to obtain certification
- Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred; strong new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Experience in a hospital laboratory environment is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Compensation & Benefits
- $30–$35 per hour (range provided by confidential client)
