What You’ll Do

This role performs and supports laboratory testing across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases to ensure accurate, timely patient results and to optimize laboratory operations.

  • Accurately and efficiently perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical laboratory processes
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment per manufacturer instructions
  • Perform and evaluate required quality control (QC) assessments before reporting patient results
  • Evaluate test results against laboratory protocols to ensure quality patient care
  • Document all laboratory activities according to policies and procedures
  • Maintain and demonstrate competency in assigned areas
  • Complete assigned mandatory training and assignments within required timelines
  • Take responsibility for ongoing professional development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution (required to perform high-complexity testing under CLIA ’88)
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in another field plus an Associate’s degree in clinical laboratory science and certification by ASCP or equivalent (acceptable)
  • Entry-level experience accepted (less than 1 year)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory policies, safety practices, equipment, and instrumentation

  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with departmental policies and standards
  • Safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with applicable laws and the client’s policies
  • Follow departmental documentation and orientation materials for role-specific duties
