Medical Laboratory Scientist- PRN
The Medical Laboratory Scientist at Confidential Client Kaufman is responsible for maintaining specimen integrity, ensuring quality control, and providing guidance to technical and support staff within a newly remodeled laboratory. This role supports high-quality patient care in a community hospital setting, emphasizing accuracy and cost-effectiveness, while participating in training and orientation of new personnel.

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related Chemical/Physical/Biological science preferred. (If applicable, degree may be required within 3 months of hire.)
- Completion of an approved Medical Technology internship/training program.
- 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- One of the following certifications/licenses (or equivalent) required within 6 months of hire:
- MT(ASCP) – Medical Technologist OR
- MLS(ASCP) – Medical Laboratory Scientist OR
- Other recognized credentials (AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, state CLS licenses such as CA/FL/NY, or equivalent international credentials).
- M(ASCP) - Microbiology certification required if assigned to Microbiology.
- Eligible to work in the United States and able to meet state licensure requirements where applicable.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain specimen integrity and ensure accurate handling throughout the testing process.
- Perform and troubleshoot routine and specialized laboratory testing according to established procedures and quality-control guidelines.
- Demonstrate cost-conscious work practices while delivering high-quality patient results.
- Participate in orientation and training for students, new employees, volunteers, and observers.
- Provide direction and guidance to technical staff and laboratory support personnel as assigned.
- Adhere to Confidential Client policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Schedule & Work Location
- Work hours: PRN (as-needed/per-diem scheduling).
- Work location: Kaufman, TX (Confidential Client facility).
