Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist to work overnight shifts in a hospital laboratory in Anderson, SC. This role performs clinical laboratory testing on patient specimens, maintains instrumentation, supports quality initiatives, and helps implement and validate laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain working knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation within the assigned department.
• Participate in laboratory quality improvement activities and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Use laboratory information systems and other applicable computer programs.
• Assist with evaluation, implementation and maintenance of laboratory tests and procedures.
• Support training and evaluation of students and new staff; participate in cross-training as assigned.
• Complete required continuing education credits annually.
• Use laboratory supplies and resources responsibly and follow established safety procedures.
• Maintain professional conduct and promptly report potential compliance concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or another nationally recognized registry credential required.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory testing procedures and instrumentation.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and standard computer tools.
• Ability to work effectively with laboratory staff and support training activities.
• Open to new graduates who meet degree and credential requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is performed in a hospital laboratory setting with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Duties involve prolonged standing, frequent walking, bending, reaching, repetitive hand motions, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Appropriate PPE and adherence to safety procedures are required.

Compensation, Shift & Benefits

• Salary: Starting at $27.50 per hour (base pay).
• Shift: Overnights, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM with rotating weekends.
• Shift Differential: $2.25/hr on weekdays, $5.00/hr on weekends.
• Benefits: 401(k), medical, dental, vision, generous PTO, paid holidays.
