Summary
Confidential Client is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join their clinical laboratory team in Coppell, TX. This is a full-time role in a Spec Chem / LCMSMS environment. Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Competitive pay starting at $29.50+/hour, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates (where eligible).
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist I to perform and document high-complexity clinical testing. You will:
- Follow established procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, and reporting
- Perform testing using approved LC-MS / LCMSMS and other analytical platforms
- Review and release test results according to lab policies and quality standards
- Maintain records for proficiency testing and routine quality control
- Troubleshoot and escalate instrument or process issues to senior technologists or supervisors
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and lab safety guidelines

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or Medical Technology strongly preferred
- Associates degree in a laboratory science with appropriate experience may be considered
- Transcripts may be requested during the hiring process
Experience & Skills
- 1 year clinical lab experience (high-complexity testing) preferred
- Experience with LC-MS / LCMSMS or ICP-MS strongly preferred
- Familiarity with specimen handling, QC, proficiency testing, and regulatory compliance
- MLS / Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist or similar credentials helpful
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
Responsibilities (Concise)
- Analyze specimens using approved test procedures
- Maintain documentation that proficiency testing and patient specimens are handled equivalently
- Review, verify, and release results in the laboratory information system
- Follow corrective actions and escalation procedures when test systems fall outside acceptable performance
- Maintain safe and compliant work practices at all times
Location & Schedule
- Worksite: Coppell, TX (onsite)
- Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- This role requires work at the Coppell facility; relocation or commute considerations are the candidate’s responsibility
