Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their clinical laboratory team in Danville East, PA. This role performs diagnostic testing across multiple lab departments, follows CLIA-required procedures, supports quality control and instrument maintenance, and helps ensure timely, accurate patient results. All shifts are available.
What You’ll Do
- Performs diagnostic testing across departments including molecular chemistry, coagulation, hematology, special chemistry, urinalysis, and serology following established QA/QC procedures.
- Execute, evaluate, and document quality control checks (daily, weekly, monthly), including temperature logs and specimen handling/rotation.
- Review and evaluate test results for validity and consistency with procedure manuals and expected results.
- Perform routine equipment and instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration.
- Maintain inventory, restock reagents, calibrators, controls, and supplies; prepare and evaluate new reagents/controls.
- Accurately record and report results per laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
- ASCP or AMT certification required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science — or CLIA-required coursework (24 credits in Chemistry/Biology constituting a biological science major).
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and proficiency with computers is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$35 per hour + shift differential (depending on experience).
