What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level to experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (night shift). In this role you will support clinical laboratory operations on the night rotation, ensuring accurate, timely testing and maintaining specimen and instrument integrity.

• Perform and document routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests across disciplines (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank as assigned).
• Maintain specimen integrity and process incoming specimens according to procedures.
• Execute and record quality control, calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of lab instruments.
• Follow established test procedures and participate in competency assessments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
• Adhere to laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to prioritize urgent testing and resolve issues.

Shift & Location

• Night shift: 4 x 10-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays (approx. 8:30 PM–7:00 AM).
• Location: Fort Worth, TX — onsite clinical laboratory at the Confidential Client facility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a Chemical, Physical or Biological Science — required or attained within 3 months of hire.
• Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program (required).
• MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certification required within 6 months after hire (or other accepted credential such as AMT, AAB, etc., as applicable to licensure pathways).
• If assigned to Microbiology, appropriate microbiology certification (e.g., M(ASCP)) required within 6 months.
• Strong commitment to accuracy, documentation, and patient safety.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a medical laboratory (2 years preferred).
• Prior work in a high-complexity Microbiology laboratory is highly preferred.
• Experience with clinical lab instruments, LIS, and routine QC procedures.
