What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to perform a range of clinical laboratory tests used for diagnosis and treatment. In this role you will work in the Central Laboratory (Chemistry) and support patient care by producing accurate, timely test results and maintaining laboratory quality and safety.
- Perform laboratory testing on blood, tissue, and other biological samples (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Transfusion and related areas)
- Analyze and validate test results; report findings to clinical teams
- Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments
- Implement and monitor quality control, proficiency testing, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare, label, and track specimens according to protocol to avoid contamination or degradation
- Record results and maintain clear, auditable laboratory records
- Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and other laboratory staff to support patient care
- Participate in continuous improvement, process enhancements, and professional development activities
Qualifications
Registered Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) — typical requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a chemical/physical/biological science from an accredited institution, OR completion of an accredited MLS program with internship
- National certification (e.g., ASCP Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent) required; documentation must be maintained
- Eligible candidates may be hired as conditionally certified if certification is completed within an employer-defined timeframe
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification where required by site
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts (this posting lists 12:30 PM–9:00 PM, Monday–Friday)
- State licensure if required by the work location
Registered Medical Lab Technician (MLT) — typical requirements:
- Associate degree or completion of an accredited MLT program plus national MLT certification (ASCP or approved agency), OR eligibility to sit for certification with completion within an employer-defined timeframe
- Experience with laboratory information systems and clinical testing preferred

Schedule & Compensation
- Position type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Typical shift for this posting: 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM, Monday–Friday
- Hourly compensation (based on experience):
- Registered Medical Lab Scientist: $35.60 – $54.93 per hour
- Registered Medical Lab Technician: $26.74 – $41.28 per hour
- Actual pay will depend on experience and certification level; benefits eligibility applies per client policy
Physical Requirements
- Ability to read labels, monitors, and small print with accuracy
- Frequent verbal communication with patients and care teams; ability to hear alarms and spoken instructions
- Manual dexterity for precise instrument and specimen handling
- Ability to lift, move, and transport supplies and equipment as required
- May require extended periods of standing and occasional driving for certain roles
