Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Medical Disability Examiners to join the Division of Disability Determinations. In this role you will research, compile, analyze, and render independent decisions on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or medically needy disability claims filed in Florida. Extensive training is provided; no prior medical experience is required.


What you’ll do

  • Review medical, vocational, and administrative records and evaluate evidentiary sufficiency for disability determinations
  • Conduct fact-finding and secure additional medical evidence when required
  • Authorize diagnostic or consultative services when appropriate
  • Prepare clear, typed case notes and maintain electronic case records using multiple screens
  • Apply Social Security rules, regulations, and policy to render formal disability decisions
  • Communicate effectively by phone and in writing with claimants, medical providers, and coworkers
  • Meet productivity and quality standards; identify errors and take corrective action

Who we’re looking for (required & preferred)

Required

  • Ability to physically report to the office in Palmetto Bay, FL (on-site work)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data for accuracy and completion
  • Critical thinking, basic math competency, and comfort in a Windows-based computer environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience (e.g., Associate’s + 2 years relevant experience, or high school diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
  • Experience managing caseloads for insurance, disability, vocational, social work, or government programs
  • Experience determining eligibility under rules/regulations or working in a medical/vocational field

Location & hours

  • Work location: Palmetto Bay, FL (Miami‑Dade County) — this position requires on-site attendance.
  • Work schedule: Career service position; schedule details provided by Confidential Client. Optional overtime is typically offered periodically.
  • This is an entry-level professional role with structured training and potential advancement.

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range: $41,739.88 - $78,418.23 per year (as posted)
