What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level professional position responsible for researching, developing, compiling, analyzing, and rendering independent decisions on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and/or Medically Needy disability claims for residents of Florida. Training is provided; the role emphasizes accurate, timely case processing and clear written and verbal communication.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review medical and vocational records to determine evidentiary sufficiency for decision-making.
  • Research and secure medical evidence of record (medical records, diagnostic studies) and, when appropriate, authorize specialized medical or psychological diagnostic services.
  • Use electronic case management systems to process cases from intake through closure, including typed case notes and transactional inputs.
  • Apply Social Security rules, regulations, policies and procedures to render disability decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, claimants, and external providers via phone and written correspondence.
  • Identify issues or errors in records and take corrective action; perform fact-finding research.
  • Manage multiple tasks and work independently while meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Qualifications

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data related to disability benefits.
  • Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize information logically and maintain accurate records.
  • Comfortable working in a Windows-based, multi-screen electronic case management environment.
  • Ability to work independently and to establish effective working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Associate’s degree + 2 years’ related experience, or high school diploma + 4 years’ related experience).
  • Experience managing caseloads for insurance, disability, vocational, social work, or government programs.
  • Experience determining eligibility of claims based on rules and regulations.
  • Experience in a medical or vocational field.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $41,739.88 – $78,418.23 per year (range provided by the client).

Location & Schedule

  • Work location: Miami / Miami-Dade County, FL (on-site).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Typical schedule: standard business hours; training program with potential for flexible schedules after successful completion of the trainee program. No required weekend work or after-hours email in normal operations.
